| Resigned Vice President of Ivory Coast |
The Presidency affirmed Duncan's abdication on Monday.
An announcement by President Alassane Ouattara's Secretary-General, Patrick Achi said Duncan surrendered on close to home grounds.
As indicated by Achi: "The President of the Republic continued on Wednesday, July 8, to the marking of an announcement ending the elements of Daniel Kablan Duncan as VP of the Republic.
"After a few talks, the remainder of which occurred on Tuesday, July 7, President Alassane Ouattara observed this renunciation and continued to sign the pronouncement ending Daniel Kablan Duncan."
Duncan had recently filled in as Prime Minister of Côte d'Ivoire from 1993-1999 under Henri Konan Bedié and again from 2012-2017 under the current president, Ouattara.
