According to Manchester United
manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, he wants three more players this summer, after
completing a £40.3million deal for Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek, the UK
Times reports.
Van de Beek completed his medicals
on Monday in Amsterdam, after he was grant permission to leave the Dutch
national team camp.
Although Jadon Sancho was United’s first
priority for months, the Red Devils moved quickly to seal a deal for the
23-year-old.
Sancho remains one of the three
players Solskjaer is eager to add to his squad ahead of next campaign.
Solskjaer wants Sancho to improve a
void on the right wing, where Mason Greenwood had temporarily filled towards
the end of the season.
The United boss also wants to sign a
fast centre-back to play alongside Harry Maguire. With Victor Lindelof which partnered
Maguire throughout last season, but neither of them possess the pace to play a
high line.
RB Leipzig defender, Dayot
Upamecano, is a target for the club but there are doubts over if the Frenchman
is ready for Premier League football or the board is ready.
Solskjaer is keen on signing another striker.
Odion Ighalo which extended his loan at the club until January, but his playing
time has reduced since the restart after his previous lone term. The manager is
now looking at the market for a better alternative to Anthony Martial.
