Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, is keen to
sign a fast centre-back this summer and believes Upamecano can be a good
partner with captain Harry Maguire at the Red Devils’ defence next season.
But some Man United board members
have now raised concerns over a move for Upamecano this summer.
There is debate at Old Trafford over
the move of Upamecano’s readiness for a move to the Premier League giants and
if he is willing to coup with the English top-flight league.
Leipzig values Upamecano at around
£60m but a clause in his contract means he can leave the club for around £40m
next summer.
Upamecano has helped Leipzig with
his skills to reach the Champions League last-four season.
The Frenchman has also drawn the
interest of several big clubs in Europe in the past few weeks following his
impressive display for the Bundesliga side last season.
